Here is the standard driver's seat base.
Here is the MDF seat template.
This is a mock-up of the foam thicknesses required, made out of rigid foam.
Rigid foam in position.
Hinge mechanism from Tecla, along with the aluminium box section.
Here is the positioning of the aluminium base angles.
Splitting the MDF template.
Followed by splitting the rigid foam template to the same size.
Both templates formed.
Positioning of the bolster hinges.
Trying the template bases in place.
Working out the positioning of the bolster brackets.
Mounting the templates onto the brackets.
Bolster flip template in position.
Base of the seat templates are now copied onto HDPE material complete with vents.
Testing out the finished seat base.
Adding the Stop to the bottom of the fixed seat.
Trying the mock foam template on the completed base.
Fixing the brackets to captive nuts.
Trying the completed base mechanism.
Trying the bolster mechanism once bolted to the welded seat frame.
As to previous, here is transferring the templates to the HDPE, 12mm board. (StarBoard)
Completed seat returned from upholsterer.
Completed seat now installed in boat and tried in various positions.
Very happy with the result.
